Reduces Particle Adhesion

Dust particles and organic matter adhere to untreated solar panels, which builds up over time, reduces solar output and is difficult to remove. This effect is worsened by high humidity or early morning dew.

nanovis coating changes the molecular structure of the surface and makes it difficult for these particles to stick. In addition, UV rays react with nanovis (in a process called photocatalytic) to actively break down organic matter. So natural elements like wind and rain are able to remove particles effectively, before they bake into the surface. This is a core part of the self-cleaning function of nanovis.

Superhydrophilic

In addition to particle adhesion, water droplets from rain or dew capture airborne particles.  These droplets dry which creates dust and salt scale that builds up over time, reduces PV output and is difficult to remove.

nanovis coating creates a nanocrystalline structure which forces water droplets immediately 'sheet' across the surface (a phenomenon called superhydrophilic).  This makes the panels dry faster, but it also washes away dust and organic matter quickly.  The image is from real lab testing here in Australia.  Once the coating cures under UV (1-2 hours), you can see this action immediately.

Anti-reflective

In addition to the improved energy production from self-cleaning, there is an additional 4% improvement from the anti-reflective properties.

nanovis reflects less of the visible light, which absorbs more light into the panel.  You can visibly see this in action after the coating has been activated.

Solutions

Application

clean solar panels.png

Clean

Clean your panels as you normally would and allow to dry thoroughly.  For best results use an approved cleaning product, free from any wax or other residue.

spray bottle.jpg

Spray

Spray the coating using low pressure equipment that does not atomise the liquid (we supply equipment if required).  The liquid will naturally and evenly spread out across the surface.

Activate

Allow sunlight to activate the coating and create the nanocrystalline structures.  This can take anywhere from 1-2 hours to 12 hours depending on the exposure and relative humidity.

Why Choose Nanovis?

Our solutions have undergone rigorous academic research including long term field studies in different environmental conditions all over the world.  In addition, we conduct controlled field studies on client applications to gather a wealth of data and experience.

Our self-cleaning coating relies on natural moisture and rainfall to reduce the cleaning cost of your solar asset.  By altering the molecular structure of the surface, we can limit dust adhesion and maximise cleaning efficiency of natural resources.
